What we collect

When you book a consultation or submit our form, we collect the name, email address, phone number and property address you give us, along with anything you write in the free-text field.

Advertising and analytics

This site uses the Meta Pixel, a tracker provided by Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram). It records that a browser visited a page here and reports that to Meta, which lets us show ads to people who have visited the site and measure whether those ads led anywhere. It works using cookies and similar technology, and it operates whether or not you have a Facebook or Instagram account.

This site also uses Google Analytics, a measurement service provided by Google. It records which pages a browser visits here, roughly what part of the country the visit came from, and how the visitor arrived — from a search, an ad, or a link — which is how we learn which pages are actually useful to people in a distressed situation. It uses cookies and similar technology. It does not receive your name, your phone number, your property address, or anything you write in the form.

You can switch them off. The "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link at the bottom of every page stops both trackers from loading at all on that device, and the choice is remembered for a year. Nothing else about how the site works changes, and you can still book a consultation or send the form.

We also honor browser-level signals, so you do not have to find that link. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, or has Do Not Track switched on, neither tracker loads on this site at all. We treat Global Privacy Control as a valid request not to sell or share your information, and we honor it regardless of which state you live in.

We do not send Meta or Google the contents of your inquiry, your property address, or anything you tell us in a consultation.

How we use it

To contact you about your inquiry, to prepare for and hold your consultation, and to identify professionals who may be able to help with your situation.

Who we share it with

We share your information with professionals we refer you to — which may include real estate agents who handle distressed sales, short sale or loan modification attorneys, and bankruptcy attorneys. This is the core of what we do, and you should assume that submitting an inquiry means your information will be shared for that purpose.

We also share information with the service providers who run our scheduling and email systems. We do not sell your information to data brokers or list buyers.

Your choices

You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time, ask us to delete the information we hold about you, or ask to access or correct it. To make any of these requests, email privacy@distressedhomeoptions.com. We do not require you to use the inquiry form or provide a property address to exercise a privacy right.

If you are a California resident, you also have a right to direct us not to sell or share your personal information for cross-context advertising. Use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link at the bottom of any page. It switches off both trackers described above on that device and remembers the choice for a year. We honor that request regardless of where you live. That right is separate from the referral described above: when you submit an inquiry asking to be connected with a professional, sending your information to that professional is how we carry out the request you made, and it is not something this opt-out affects. We honor deletion, access, and correction requests regardless of where you live.

Retention and security

We keep inquiry records for as long as needed to help with your situation and to meet our record-keeping obligations, then delete them. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date below. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
